Marijuana has been legal for recreational use in Oregon for adults since 2014, and medical marijuana has been legal since 1998 for medical cardholders and caregivers.

Here’s a list of penalties for Oregon possession, sale, and distribution of marijuana, concentrate, or paraphernalia.
- Marijuana is a Schedule II substance in the state of Oregon
- Under federal law, cannabis is still considered a Schedule I Controlled Substance.
- An adult resident has personal possession limits of up to two ounces of legal cannabis. Possession of more could result in a Class B Misdemeanor.
- Retail sales of cannabis by state-licensed entities to those over the age of 21 are regulated in this state. Adults may purchase up to two ounces of marijuana per transaction from a licensed retailer.
- Manufacture of any amount of marijuana is a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to 1,250 USD, except for home gardens of four plants and licensed production sites, and medical marijuana grow sites.
- Delivery of one ounce or more minor of homegrown useable marijuana or cannabinoid extracts without compensation carries no fine or penalty.
- There is no fine or penalty for recreational users who cultivate up to four plants homegrown at home.
- Sale, delivery, possession with intent to sell or deliver, or manufacture with the intention to sell paraphernalia is subject to a civil penalty of up to 10,000 USD.
